Light Observation

  1. Driving down the Cross Island Parkway at 6 am on Wednesday
  2. I saw a beautiful sunrise break over the island as I drove home.
  3. I rarely see sunrises cuz i’m not a morning person so the fact that i was able to see one was an absolute miracle. It was so beautiful. the colors were a pink/orange and the clouds were a bright yellow. The trails of airplanes cris-crossing the sky.

Photo Observation

  1. Found this by doing a Google search
  2.  Theme: Summer!
  3. My favorite place is a beach with crystal blue water. Every time i think of the sand between my toes and the cool blue water I am brought to my happy place. This is the true meaning of happiness. too feel so at peace in one place.

Light Observation

  1. Sunday 12:50pm in my dorm room.
  2. I used my desk lamp to help dry the hot glue on my drama 78 sculpture project faster.
  3. The bright powerful yellow light served a different purpose for me today. Today light not only lit the world around me, it helped me finish a project that I needed to get done and done fast. I felt great appreciation for light today. Thank you lamp. As Brick from Anchorman would say, “I love lamp”.

Paradise’s Graveyard

Summer Lightplot

Source: The Odyssey, April 25, 2016 (https://www.theodysseyonline.com/bummer-summer)

Theme: Summer

Description: The beach shows a full azure horizon with a clear blue sky. Above the beach, the sun is shining down with the sand the color of peanuts. There is a single butter-colored skeleton of a starfish nestled in the sand.

Despite how pretty it looks, this single dead starfish makes me ponder about the numerous shells and skeletons that are underneath the sand. It makes me wonder how much ugliness in underneath the beach, and how much time and death had past to make it this beautiful.

3. Summer

4. When I think of summer I think of summer nights. When I think of summer nights, I think of either county fair rides or fireflies. Every summer I spend hours catching these beautiful and curious bug in mason jars and staring at their awesomeness. What’s the secret? I’ve always wondered how they create the light. It amazes me.

Light Observation #10

1) DATE-TIME-LOCATION: April 12th, 9:20pm, Dorm room

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The tv is paused on a blue screen and the lights are off.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The only light in the room is the blue from the screen and street lights peeking through the blinds. There’s an eerie feel about the room. I’m afraid to leave the bed for fear of monsters underneath it. The lights from outside awash the room in shadows. It is time to continue the show and forget what lurks outside. Laughter is the best cure to fight the darkness.

Photo Observation #10

Summer

I chose this because when I think of summer I think of the beach and sunsets and no cares. I think this photo really summarizes that all up. I really like the sun is the main focus. I really like how it’s the only light source and how its changing the color of everything. It makes the sky and the water orangey. It has a very calm feeling about the whole picture and I really like that about it.

6 Trees Without Anyone

  1. Location: In front of Lowe Hall, April 11, 2017 at 12:30.
  2. Objective: In front of the hall there are six rows of trees within a square grass lawn. Shadows are shifting towards Hauser Hall like spikes piercing through the grass. There is no people or animal on there during this cold, sunny day.
  3. Subjective: This image is isolating since this usual social place has no one in there. This reminds about how, despite it being sunny, the cold weather can force us all inside. It makes me think that, despite what want to do, the weather still has some control over our choices.

Lighting Observation

  1. Walking home past Gallon Wing 11:00 p.m.
  2. A flickering light in front of Gallon Wing
  3. I was walking home and it was pitch black, except for the lamp lights, and then i turned in front of the Gallon Wing academic hall and there was this very spooky flickering light on a lamp that created these really creepy shadows and i felt like i was in a horror movie.

Photo Observation

  1. Photo taken by me, July 24, 2016
  2. Summer
  3. Whenever i think of summer i think of bright colors, bright sun, and blue sky. I remember taking this photo on vacation during the summer and i chose this because i love the vibrant colors and the bright blue sky and i love the car.
