Lighting Observation 6

  1. 3/9 5:12am my room
  2. A small incandescent light shines on the ceiling, filling the room with a dim, but still usable light.
  3. Although still dark, this light provides a cozy, comforting atmosphere to the room compared to the bright fluorescents.

  2. Happy

4.The lighting in the photo said “happy” to be because of its variation and warmth.  With the beautiful sunset behind them, the warmth of not only the sunset but also the light on them provides joy and warmth.

Photo Observation #6

2) This photo was taken by my sister in fall of 2015, some time just before 5pm because that is when Tinkerbell starts to get antsy for dinner which she gets at 5pm.

3)Theme: Happy

4) Pretty much any photo of a dog is a great photo, but this one especially evokes happy feelings for me because this is my dog, Tinkerbell. My family recently moved out of this house and so seeing my dog in the house that I mainly grew up in is a happy sight. That lighting at that time of day is so specific, its the first time we really turn the kitchen light on, because that part of the house only gets morning sun. Tinkerbell can tell when it’s almost 5, because she starts growling and pestering whoever is in the room. If we have left her bowl out from her breakfast she will tap on it and make it ring. This is what she was doing in the photo, to the point where she managed to flip her bowl over. I also love the way the natural light puts that glint on her eye while the warmth of the kitchen light shows the warm color of her eyes.

Light Observation #6

1) March 7th-7:40 pm-Netherlands Unispan

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: There were two rows of lights across the bridge so one could see when crossing it at night. The lights were not all the same color tone however. Some were amber and some were a cool white. Also, the different color of the lights were not in any particular pattern.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: In this moment, the lighting made me literally groan. I was so annoyed that the colors of the lights did not match to each other. Also, because of how the lights where spaced, there was just a circle with no light in between each light for the entire bridge walkway. Therefore, there ended up being big dots of non-patterned colors of lights across the nether-span. This created a very irritating feeling because of how the lights did not match and were not even in a pattern.

Photo Observation #6

2) I took the photo near the beginning of Fall semester 2017

3) THEME: Happy

4) DESCRIPTION: How the rainbow light faintly lays over my hand gives off a soft sort of feeling. This photo gives off a happy feeling because of the color tone the lighting causes the photo to be. How the hand has a relationship with the light rather than the light just being apart of the picture gives off this happier feeling as well. This is because of how my hand is fully involved with the light. The light lays over my hand like a blanket, which gives a comforting, positive feeling.
