Coney Island, baby!

AMUSEMENT

I’m a big fan of Coney Island. An amusement park is such an obvious choice for the theme. The lighting is bright and colorful and designed precisely to imbue joy, wonder and “amusement”. What I like about this composite photograph is combining the night time cacophony of color with the singular bright sunlight of the day which highlights the beach goers. A bright sunny day on the beach also imbues the possibility of “amusement”.

4. Though I’m sure I’m not the first person to think of an amusement park for this assignment, I think that this fits the theme perfectly. The sun setting in the background signifies the end of a beautiful day. The lights on the ride are just starting to come on, bringing the fun of the day into the later hours. I think that the colors on ride and in the sky behind it are fun and lovely, giving an amusing atmosphere to the picture.

  4. The light in this picture fills me with happiness and joy. It’s movement is vivid with great vibrancy and all of the colors hold a sense of brightness and strength. The light emanates many different extremes of bright shades on the spectrum and electricity gives it a new life. It looks as though the light is moving and dancing around in  great celebration. The texture of the light creates multiple layers signifying wealth in both quantity and quality. The l the way it is moving and shining so brightly gives a sense of ownership and pride. It’s as if the light is saying, “I’m here. I’ve arrived and I’m proud of who I am and I am happy to be who I am.”  The combination of colors, brightness, movement and texture created by the light evoke a feeling of happiness and excitement throughout the photo.
