Lighting Photo

Attributes: From CNN website, taken by Sarto Roberto
Theme: St. Patrick’s Day
Description: Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa was lit green on Monday March 16th 2015 for St. Patty’s Day. I like how the light is hitting this building from below. I thought this was interesting and unique because when I’m watching things onstage I’m not normally seeing things being lit from bottom to top. I also really like the contrast of the bright green against the rest of the dark night.
The light in my photo is in the front so I assumed then the lighting instrument would be close to the ground directly in front of the building at some type of upward angle.

St Patrick’s Day

ATTRIBUTES : This photo was taken by Josephine McCarthy on March 17, 2021.

THEME : St Patrick’s Day

DESCRIPTION : I chose this photo first and foremost for the color. I love how the green is a beacon of focus in an otherwise dark landscape. I also enjoy how the green has an almost electric presence against the dull blue. The angle of the light is also extremely interesting to me. The upward angle creates a foreboding, almost mischievous mood which well reflects the shenanigans that many get into on St Patrick’s Day.

St. Patrick’s Day

Photo from Twitter of Glasnevin Cemetery

Description: This photo shows vibrant green plastered on a tower in a cemetery. This is one of many buildings/monuments across the world that gets lit up for St. Patrick’s Day. It shows unity, pride, and support in Ireland and other countries, and also allows those who have passed to participate and honors their memory.

the steep angle of the the light makes this a very dramatically lit beer.  I chose a pint of Guinness because today is St. Patrick’s day

Light Observation 1-Week 7

1) 3/17/11, 5:37pm, Mchebes

2)Objective: The sunlight was shining and reflecting off of a glass mug filled with green beer. Which then was reflecting a green light onto the tables.

3)Subjective: The green reflection gave me a happy feeling. Being that it was St.Patrick’s Day, it shined like it was the end of the rainbow leading to a pot of gold. Also it was just great to see the green reflection coming from different peoples mugs. It was like I was surrounded by a green light of people’s envy towards me! It was kind of cool!
