Photo Observation 1

1: Source: Taken by myself on I-phone 7 plus

2:Sunset at Fire Island Lighthouse on Long Island

3: The Sunset in this photograph is just mesmerizing and it holds so many memories for me. The way the sun highlights hits the dunes right by the beach and that reflection, of the light, on the boardwalk just completes the moment. The crisp clouds give the impression that it is fall adding a sense of cool tones and emotions to the picture along with the warmth of the suns tones. The way the sun is setting in this picture gives the impression of an amazing day full of accomplishments.

Photo Observation #1

Sunset in Queens Village, New York 2015
taken on my Android phone

Sunrise/Sunset

I took this photo while sitting out on my balcony. I lived on the top floor of my apartment so I always had the best view of the sunset. I really like how the photo is emphasizing the sunset while everything in the background is just a shadow. This gives the photo a very mysterious yet serene feeling.

1st Photo Observation

I took the photo this winter in Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain.

Theme: Sunset

Description: Obviously there is no visible sun or sunset in this photo but nothing could’ve been seen here without the sunset. Inside the church, there is no artificial light source at all. Instead, there are a dozen walls of colored glass that allow the sunset to come through the window so that the whole building can be brightened. Those columns stand still among the colorful natural light as if forests float amid the mist. And the red and yellow window glass kind of heats up the sunset, which adds more warmness and peacefulness at the end of the day.

Photo Observation #1

Photo taken by me near the Statue of Liberty on my phone

Theme: Sunrise/Sunset

Description: This picture has an ominous feel to since the light is coming from behind the subject. Normally when lighting something like this you create a shadow but of a standing object. The source of light in this image is the sun. By having the light come from behind, the silhouette of the object shows a lot more detail than if the light was in front of it. This fits the theme since in the background you can clearly see the sun starting to set.

Sunset

I can not figure out how to rotate it because it’s right side up when I downloaded it.

Attribute: I took this picture leaving the Walmart parking lot.

Theme: Sunset

Description: This is a picture of the sun setting as I was leaving Walmart. It fits the theme because it is a sunset, obviously. It was snowing and windy so it was freezing for me to take this picture quickly. I especially like how the headlights’ lights are reflected the wet/icy ground in the foreground of the photograph.

Light Observation #9 – Two Different Skies

  1. Date: 3/30/18, Time: about 7 pm, Location: JCPenney @ Roosevelt Field Mall
  2. I walk outside of JCPenney into the top level of the parking lot and the sky is split: one side is a sunset, the other is cloudy with drizzling and a rainbow.
  3. I come out of the mall with a friend of mine after an evening of young adult chicanery, when I look to my right, only to see a gray sky with rain and the faintest image of a rainbow. I look to the other side and there is a bright orange sunset looming over in the distance. The sky could not decide how it would be painted, so it chose both sides, each a sight in their own unique way.

Light Observation 9

1.) Pond outside my home in Uniondale NY. April 7 2018, 6:50pm.

2.) The sun was soon approaching sun set. The the suns light was reflecting in the pond in a strait thick line pointing towards my window. The light was bright light amber and it glistened. The surrounding water was glistening as well but had a darker tone.

3.) The moment reminded me of something from animal planet. I could almost Morgan Freeman’s voice over playing as the camera shows the shot of the pond and then cuts to a follow shot of the local geese flying through the sky.

Photo Observation 6

  2. Happy

4.The lighting in the photo said “happy” to be because of its variation and warmth.  With the beautiful sunset behind them, the warmth of not only the sunset but also the light on them provides joy and warmth.

Lighting Observation #5

2/19 8:30 pm- Anaheim, Ca
The sun is setting behind clouds and houses. The sky is still bright and houses are beginning to get dark.
The sun setting gives off a somewhat ethereal feeling, the sun behind the clouds makes them pop out.  The bright white clouds, surrounded by the warm light over the houses and near the mountains gave off a look that looked a lot like a beautiful sunset photo, not something in real life, but it was real.

Light Observation #4 – Sunset

  1. Date: 2/20/18, Time: about 5:30pm, Location: my bedroom, looking out my window
  2. Through my bedroom window, the sun is setting in the distance, leaving behind a variety of bright colors in the sky.
  3. Evening is coming to fruition, with the sun beginning to set in the west. As it descends, the sky and clouds are being painted with both warm and cool colors. It is such a wonderful sight of nature. Shades of pink, blue, yellow and orange begin to fill up the canvas that is the window.
