Photo Observation #4

Taken by me on Tuesday in Times Square

Theme: Nightlife

Description: The bright lights against the dark night really show off the nightlife in New York City. The bright lights from all of the billboards create a feeling of excitement and even draw you into the location. This picture fits the theme since it shows off what people could do in New York City during the night.

Lighting Observation

  1. 2/21/17, 6:54, Times Square
  2. Walking through Times Square, I can see a wide variety of neon signs hanging off of the buildings around me. The light coming from the signs is being reflected onto the glass windows of the surrounding buildings.
  3. As I pass through the bustling crowd of Times Square, I look up and notice the neon signs that decorate almost every building around me. These signs glow red, green, yellow, and a multitude of other colors. As I turn my head to take in all of the architecture around me, I realize that the glowing light coming from the signs is being reflected onto several buildings around them. The array of colored light bouncing off of the buildings brought life to what would have otherwise been a dark and dull cityscape.

3) Theme: Night life

4) This photo is  a picture of Times Square around 10pm on a summer night. My mom took this picture on our trip to NY when I was looking for schools to attend for college. The picture itself is full of life from the various colors of all of the lights to the ridiculous amount of people that are shuffling through the streets. This photo fits the theme because it clearly shows nightlife.

Photo Observation- Week3

2) Toys R’us in Time Square

3) Vibrant, Saturated light

4) The red saturated light above spiderman looks like the horizon set for spiderman to ascend upon. It gives the room a darker and more ominous feel which also makes it look like a fire is occuring and Spiderman must save us all. Its very intense and dramatic, just like Spiderman the musical. The only difference is this spiderman is still up!
