First Electric

– 36 Source 4, R10, Leaves foliage gobo

– 36 Source 4, R22, Leaves foliage gobo

FOH SL – 26 Source 4, R05

First, using the leaves foliage gobo, I mimicked the appearance of autumn leaves with deep amber and medium yellow lights. For the cyc, I used a combination of red, yellow, and blue, to make a twilight sky. Finally, using a light on the SL boom and the SL FOH, I placed a golden and amber light to mimic the sun.

First Electric

– 2 Parnells, R316

– 6″ Fresnel, R80

Using the R80 on the cyc, I made it appear like a summer sky with no clouds. The parnells on the first electric were used to create sunlight illumination as well as give the appearance of sand on the ground. Finally, I used an overhead fresnel for extra modeling.

First Electric

-6″ Fresnel, R80

– 2 36 Source 4, R361

SL FOH – 26 Source 4

I combined blue and a little bit of yellow to create a grayish blue background, similar to how the sky looks when it is about to snow. Then I added more hints of blue using source fours on the sides and then a darker blue overhead. Finally, I added a beam of white light hitting from the Front of House.

Lighting Observation 12

Date/Time/Location: May 14th/ 5pm/ Eisenhower Park

Objective: The APO Picnic!

Subjective: It almost feels as if there is a greenish-yellow film covering the whole scene. It is a grassy area with an open field in it. The trees are covered with yellow leaves. It is a joyous occasion where everyone is having fun, and the lighting reflects that. It is a sunny, warm day with no clouds in the sky.

Lighting Observation 11

Date/Time/Location: May 8th/ 1am/ My House

Objective: I am watching TV late at night.

Subjective: There are no other lights on in the house. The blue light from the tv is the only thing breaking through the shadows. Everything outside of the beam is seen as a silhouette. The colors of the room are constantly changing as different frames flash around the screen.

Lighting Observation 10

Date/Time/Location:  May 6th/ 8:00pm/ Off Campus House

Objective: The living room of an off-campus house.

Subjective: There is a pale, blue-ish light emanating by a lamp on an end table. There is a ceiling light in the kitchen that is emanating a light yellow light. Together it is creating an interesting wash of the area, feeling very urban on a dark evening. It feels like a scene from a movie in the early 2000’s.

Lighting Observation 9

Date/Time/Location: May 4th/ 4:00pm/ Garden City Town Hall

Objective: A dimly lit hallway.

Subjective: It is creepy. There are old ceiling lights that are white and flickering. The entire hallway is covered in a thin layer of shadow with people constantly walking through. It creates a feeling of mystery and anxiety.

Lighting Observation 8

Date/Time/Location: May 1st/ 2:00pm/ The Library

Objective: A window overlooking the south side of campus on the 9th floor.

Subjective: The campus almost looks like it is small, as everything can be clearly seen. The sun is high in the sky illuminating all areas. There are so many trees that it almost looks like a forest. Each tree gives off a vibrant green color, which compliments the light blue color of the sky. It feels almost as if I’m in a different world.
