Spring Photo

This is a photo I took in April 2020. Flowers obviously signify spring, but the white, pink and green colors really get across the fact that it is the spring time. The white light coming out from the sky reminds of the “rebirth” feeling of spring. The brightness and vibrance of the photo really pop and emphasize feelings of spring time. If I edited the photo to make it paler or darker, I do not think the vibe of the photo would be the same.

Photo Theme- Spring

I took this photo at a vineyard during the Spring. I really loved the way the light was shining from behind the leaves and grapes, adding shadows and highlights to the plant depending on the density of where the sun is shining.

03/08 Light Observation

03/08:

The glass roof of the AMC building next to Target.

At sunset the orange and subtle purple light reflecting off of the glass decor made the building almost look like it was on fire. It was really cool to see it at a distance in contrast with the plain white building and the big red AMC letters just below it. I almost wish the building was that color normally and not just at sunset.

Photo Theme- Bizarre

I found this image on Google. I really liked the way that the light reflects off of the glass object. The different lights that shine on the wall based on the angle of the glass is also really interesting.

Lighting Observation 3/8

3/9, 8:30 pm, ACDA adjudicated concert during a piece

Objective description: There is faint amber side lighting coming from the middle side lights, and the cyc is a vibrant green color. There is little to no front lighting, so what you mainly see is the dancers’ shadows reflecting onto the bright green cyc.

Subjective description: The shadows of the dancers has a sharp contrast to the color of the cyc behind it which immediately catches my eye and draws me into the dance. The green and brown costumes and green lighting give the dance a forest, earth-like energy. As the side lights are added, we begin to see more of the dancers’ bodies, and it is very cool to see the way the lighting bounces off of the flowy costumes.
