Objective: The room was completely dark and the window shades were drawn down. However the shades do not cover the windows edges which create almost a halo effect around the window shade.
Subjective: The halo effect on the blind was a cool, moonlight glow that made the rest of the shade completely invisible in dark. It almost looked liked a completely dark opening/passage to another hallway or room.
