Lighting Observation

Hempstead Turnpike
Objective: I saw a cell phone tower in the distance while I was driving.
Subjective: The red flashing light on top of the tower, which marks its height for fly traffic, felt as if to represent a beacon of hope, calling out to those lost in the dark sky. Although the purpose of the light is to direct things away from it, the repetitive behavior felt as though it was persuading people to come closer.
