DATE-TIME-LOCATION: April 8th 5:15 pm
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: Sunlight on a cats fur
SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The cat’s black fur had a tint of copper underneath the warm rays from the sun. He flicked his tail and rolled around in the grass with not a care in the world.

DATE-TIME-LOCATION: March 13th 430pm Sunken Meadows Beach
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The sun setting on the beach
SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The wind picked up and the air became chilly as the orange and yellows of the sun faded into the blues and greens of the ocean water. The warmth left the day for a cool night.

DATE-TIME-LOCATION: Sometime around 11 pm on the Garden State Parkway on February 27th
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The high beams of the pick-up truck on the opposite side of the highway
SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: I am blinded. The white light pierces my retinas as I try to see on the parkway as I am driven home. I think headlights like that should be illegal.

This photo is from a Starbucks Ad circa 2016
3) THEME: Advertisement/Desire
4) DESCRIPTION: The red cups stood on the countertop backed by the soft yellow light coming from behind the bar. The cups meant the holidays were near and that special drinks customers longed for year-round were soon to come.

DATE-TIME-LOCATION: 5:50 pm at my kitchen table in Uniondale on March 9th
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The setting sun casting a shadow onto the kitchen table as I sat in my zoom class.
SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: I could not focus on what was happening in class, I stared at my housemate while she cooked dinner. The table was half-cast in the shade as I started to doze off. The world was telling me it was time to sleep.

This image is from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812
3) THEME: Single Light Source (Artificial)
4) DESCRIPTION: As “snow” fell from the ceiling Natasha twirled in place lost in a daydream. Longing for her fiance in the moonlight she hugged herself. The blue illuminated her in the corner of the stage. She looks innocent and smitten beneath the soft blue keeping her cool amongst the vibrant scenery behind her.

I took this photo in December 2018 in EPCOT
3) THEME: Nightlife
4) DESCRIPTION: Smoke filled the pitch-black air as the crowd looked out onto the lake, music filling their ears. The only lights around were the bright lamp posts. Almost as if they were a beacon for the crowd to come forward. Suddenly hues of pinks and purples burst through the smog and mingled in the air. All of the colors merging together created the perfect backdrop for the exploding fireworks giving off a warm spark every so often across the sky.

DATE-TIME-LOCATION: February 20th, the Hofstra Library at 5:23 pm
OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The sun setting in the distance giving the faintest outline of the cities skyline.
SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The setting sun in the distance caught my eye as I was studying in the library. I wanted to see more so I stood on the radiator peering over the top window I hoped that PSafe was nowhere nearby. The city outlined by the bright oranges of the leaving sun made me smile. I sat back down to finish my work as the sky went dark.

The Photo is from VITALIY HOLOVIN/CORBIS VIA GETTY IMAGES
3) THEME: Cold
4) DESCRIPTION: The air around you is so heavy that everything gets caught within it, you can feel the energy vibrating. The snow helps brighten the world outside beyond the broken window. A shining light beckons you, those stairs lead somewhere, but where? The light is too bright to tell from your stance. Inside is dingy and desolate. Only natural light is there to illuminate what was left behind to rot. The sunlight coming through the window gets darkened by the decay it touches. Yellows and greens mingle against the walls and seep into the heavy air. Everything feels empty, even you. The more you stand and stare everything gets darker in this place that was lost in time. Your fingertips are turning red, your breath hangs the air, but you are still drawn to that brightness you see. You want to step into the light in the center of the room and get closer to that beacon but your limbs won’t move. The space is too empty you feel like an intruder. It feels as if the ghosts of what once was have their eyes on you. A shiver runs up your body as if someone was just breathing down your neck. Is it really just the snow bringing that chill to your body still? Time has stopped here but the light shines on.
