4/25 Lighting Observation
Objective: 4:00 PM, outside of the hofstra library, I noticed the sunlight reflecting off of the library windows and it was very warm. Subjective: The warm light reflecting off of the windows made me feel invited and welcomed at this … Continue reading
Photo Observation 4/18
This photo is taken by Nate Smith from google. I chose this because the lighting seemed surreal, almost like a UFO was landing.
Lighting Observation 4/12
Objective: As we stroll down the street, sunlight gleams off the facades of the buildings, illuminating our path toward the Empire State Building. Subjective: The sun boldly announces the morning. Even though the buildings tower high, obscuring direct sunlight, we … Continue reading
Lighting Observation 4/19
Objective: I was walking on campus and noticed the light on the trees around me were moving with the wind in the leaves. Subjective: The moving lights in the trees were like gobos as I was dancing through the … Continue reading
4/4 Photo Observation (ad)
4/4/24 I chose this ad by ELF because of the interesting reflection of light off of the football. This seems to be artificial, because I’m not sure a football can reflect light in that way.
Photo Observation 3/28
I took this photo on 3/27/24, of my bedside “sunset” lamp. The single source artificial light is reflected off of a hanging disco ball on my wall, cascading light across the room.
Lighting Observation 3/15
Objective: I was on FaceTime with my friend, and noticed movement through the reflection of the microwave in front of me. I immediately jumped and screamed, assuming it was a person in my house. It was indeed my own shadow. … Continue reading
Photo Observation 3/14
I chose this photo taken by Molly S, because it captured a stunning moment of sunlight reflection in the city. This was from an NYU choreography seminar trip with MOVOM.
3/7 Lighting Observation
3/7 Lighting Observation Objective: I was driving down a long, sun-lit road in Garden City. The pavement was lit by the sun, but covered in shadows from moving cars and the surrounding trees on either side of the road. Subjective: … Continue reading
Photo Observation 3/7
Bizzare I took this photo at an art exhibit in NYC in 2021. It was bizarre to me because of the way the projections created an immersive experience for the art being displayed. There were a lot of illusions that … Continue reading
