Photo Observation

Attribution: This was a photo taken by me this summer when my mom and stepdad “eloped”.

Theme: Wild card – Silhouette

Description- The “golden hour” in the theme of love topped the creation of a memorable evening. The sky is lit with a beautiful pastel yellow tone with a light blue/ grey outline at the top of the sunset. This light created a silhouette to accentuate the setting of the beach with the palm tree and emphasized the love of my parents with their dancing bodies. This photo simply just needed the light background to create a photo of forever serenity and imagery.

Photo Observation

Attributes: This photo was taken from the Meow Wolf’s photo gallery on their website. This is one of their rooms at the Meow Wolf museum

Theme: Surreal

Description: You walk into the first room only seeing a basic house with regular dim lights, keeping your expectations at mellow. But then you walk through a fridge and suddenly walk into a room that makes you feel like you are in the movie avatar. Everything seems alive. You can see the regular structure of an outdoor treehouse, but then there are lit-up moss, plants, and obscure things that feel like they are breathing. The colors and emphasis of the lights create this movement, seeming like the things around you are real and alive. Everything lit and shown puts you in a euphoric experience.

Attribution: this photo was taken by me in the Atelier des lumiéres in Paris, meaning workshop of lights.

Theme: Inspiring

Description: This whole scene was created from projecting lights. The moving lights shifted from scripture to paintings, to so many more art pieces. The lights alone were beautiful, but the lights created the famous artwork from famous artists. As I sat there for a good two hours, I felt nothing be greatness and inspiration. To be surrounded by gorgeous light, and to top it off, with how the lights created something even bigger, gave my mind and me a ton of room for exploration, thoughts, and curiosity; And those attributes to my thought process is my greatest inspiration of all. This picture shows the creativity of the space, work, lights, and atmosphere.

Photo Observation

2) This photo was taken by me in Philly last summer. I was trying a Philly cheesesteak for the first time.

3) THEME: Night life

4) DESCRIPTION: One of the greatest things about the night is the light that illuminates the sky. The second best thing is getting food late at night. I don’t think I would be as appetized for a cheesesteak in the daytime, then to see these lights and absorb the whole experience. The lights surrounding Geno’s sign give off the vibe of endless nights, fun adventures, and trying new foods.

2) This was a photo I took in Paris round 8PM

3) Romance

4) The Eiffel tower is a grand monument itself, but when you see the glowing tower at night, your perception of night turns into a feeling of lust. When the sun comes down, the tower begins to travel across the water, allowing every audience to see its glory. Every thirty minutes, twinkling lights appear, reminding myself that there is magic and love in the city of pairs. This kind of romance may be recognized with a partner, but from the photo I took, I was in love with the night, the atmosphere, and the smell of baguettes.

Photo Observation

  1. Attribution: Photo by me. Location: Dana point beach, Orange County California. This is a sunset. Unfortunately, I can never wake up early enough for sunrise.

    3) THEME: Sunset/ Sunrise

    4) DESCRIPTION: After a hike through the caves of the Dana Point beach, I turn my head and see the most rewarding sunset. As I’m trudging through the mud, I begin to realize the beauty and the contrast between the dark mud and the sunset. Without the dark, maybe this sunset wouldn’t be as vibrant? Maybe the orange peel and the pink fluff wouldn’t collaborate with the dim blue sky and rocky dark mud? I think the sunset wouldn’t make it whole without all the attributes collected.  It was a hike to remember and a sunset to reflect.
