Lighting Observation #8

  1. Thursday, April 7th, around 11:50pm. Driving on Oak Street and passing Napolini Express.
  2. The restaurant was visibly closed and a dim red light filled the restaurant. The store sign was still lit up, and there were street lamps in the parking lot.
  3. The lighting of Oak street was very consistent, a street light every couple of yards) as we continued our journey back to Hofstra University from the Mineola train station. Then when we came across the light right before the Hofstra University light, I noticed  striking red light to my left. It gave the street a pleasant contrast, after having so much of the same lighting. It also gave the street life in a way; even though the shop was closed, and the street was practically dead, it told a story. Obviously, the story is in the eye of the beholder, but it allowed me to appreciate lighting in a new way, with a new story that I hadn’t seen before.
