4) DESCRIPTION: As we came to the top of the this valley, I saw it there before me. There was the peak. I had come this far, so I knew that I couldn’t back down now. Behind the peak, high in the sky, was the mid-afternoon sun. I could feel the individual rays reaching out towards me. I knew that once I got to the top of the peak, I would feel as if I could touch the bright sun above me. The light reflected off of the snow, making it glimmer around me. The sparkles that came from the ground made it look like someone had dropped some diamonds. I kept climbing, with a new hope within me. I would reach the top. I would feel the sky.

4. The world is full of many inspirations, but nothing compares to the twinkling of the night sky.  Most people can spend hours stargazing and making wishes upon the bright, dazzling stars. The stars watch over us at such an incredible height with their white lights cascading over the earth, bringing light to the dark sky. The stars surround the equally beautiful moon that reflects the light from the sun. The moon and the stars are a wonderful contrast to the dark sky by illuminating the night with their intense white light. Their vibrant glow lights the way for us to follow our dreams.

2.  Walking out of Bits and Bytes as the sun was setting.

3.  The sky was divided into 5 beautiful colors visible.  The top of the sky was a dark blue, almost lavender.  The dark blue faded into a lighter blue.  Below the light blue sky was a strip of yellow and orange.  And finally below the yellow and orange was a mixture of purple and orange.  The few clouds were beautiful as the orange and purple highlighted the bottom of the clouds and they darkened to a lavender at the top of the cloud.

2. A tall green evergreen tree with multi-colored lights, ribbons, ornaments and a star on top.

3. The highlight of the Christmas season is when I see my family’s beautiful Christmas tree shining for the first time. The tree is always covered with twinkling rope lights. The tree sparkles with colors varying from reds, yellows, greens, violets, golds, silvers, and pinks. These colors reflected off the glimmering silver tinsel which is wrapped around the lush branches. The ornaments dangle and complement the vibrant colors of the blinking lights. The star atop the tree is really a sight to see. It glows a wonderful shining gold that truly encompasses the natural beauty of the tree.

2. I took my little sister out to dinner before taking her to the airport. When we were in the restaurant the lights dimmed. At first I thought I was just going nuts, but my little sister noticed it as well.

3. When it first happened I was shocked, and looked to Sam for confirmation. It was a subtle change: the warm soft golden hues of the lights to a slightly dimmer, almost harsher darker golden tones. It was clear we had just been ‘mood-light’-ed. But that got me thinking: why is this considered mood lighting? I know people eat more if it’s dimmer, but it didn’t make sense. Why would a restaurant willingly change its atmosphere to resemble that of a dank room? I preferred the lighter, airy version of when we walked in. It was cheerier, nicer and more inviting. This was nice’s distant cousin whom no one talks about because they’re so closed off and cranky.

4. First off, this picture is personally inspiring because for as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work at and for Disney. So whenever I get the chance to go to Disney World, my dreams are reminded and renewed and I am newly inspired to work even harder to achieve my dreams. But even if you weren’t me and had that kind of attachment to this picture, it’s still pretty inspiring. The fireworks creating white light arcing up towards Cinderella’s Castle are reminiscent of shooting stars, which inspire and grant wishes. The contrast of that against the black sky brings even more hope – that you can fight the darkness with even the littlest bit of light. And if you shine that light even brighter, you can create something truly beautiful.

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: As I was listening to my professor lecture on car loans, I saw a light just above the white board that turned on mid-lecture.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: This light turning on was symbolic; it made me hyper aware of the fact that I need to do major research when buying my first car. Though I was already aware of that fact, for some reason, this singular light flicking on directly on the board with lecture notes made me hyper-aware. I also felt really anxious and aware of the fact that real life is approach quite quickly! I felt some shivers, but they passed quickly.

4) This picture entirely emulates inspiration. The darkness on the sides of the picture (in the trees and water) pull the observer towards the furthest trees across the lake, similar to the light at the end of the tunnel. For me, the lighting in this picture evokes hope and future. The very clear reflection in the water of the trees and the sky encourages the circle of life; the water reflects the land and sky, which reflects the water, and the cycle continues. The mirror image inspires me to know that things always have their own identity and can be isolated such as land, trees, water, and sky, but also that all of these can be defined in relation to the surrounding aspects. This image inspires peace, clarity, and tranquility as well.
