Photo Observation

Barclays Center New Year’s Eve 2019

THEME: Cold

DESCRIPTION: Cold rain hits the ground. Coolness of blue from above reflects on the puddles on the pavement. Beautiful icy tones surrounded by darkness.

2) Attribute the Photo, tell us where it came from.

This is a photo I took last February when I was in the city.

3) THEME: Cold

4) DESCRIPTION:

Small glowing lights sparkle amidst the gloomy skies overhead. The clouds blanketing the horizon with a bright white that soon fades to blue. Evenly distributed cool tones distinguish the sky from the cars passing by. Despite the blowing wind, the warmth of the grandeur buildings creates a picturesque view.

Photo Observation- Cold

ATTRIBUTE: Unknown

THEME: Cold

DESCRIPTION: The Barren forest is covered with frosty snow that permeates that dense greenery it surrounds. The sky is cascaded with a shower of powder whipped up by the wind as the sun crests over the horizon line in a gradient of warm colors. The dense frost overtakes the warm and the sun ceases its battle to permeate the layers of ice surrounding the land.

  2. THEME: Cold
  3. DESCRIPTION: A thick cloud of fog swallows the park whole, trapping the Sun outside. Just enough light shines through so the world isn’t completely black, but it is difficult to see what’s right in front of you. A blue tint remains in the sky and the grass is a cool green. However, the trees look more like shadowy figures than a part of nature.

Photo Observation

2) ATTRIBUTES: This photo was taken by me on a train going back to my hometown around Christmas time.

3) THEME: Cold

4) DESCRIPTION: The photo has a slight blue tint and is not extremely bright. Any colors within the photo are either neutrals or muted colors. The barren trees and vast mountains amid a snowy landscape give the photo a cold feeling. The absence of sunlight suggests a solemn and desolate setting.

2) ATTRIBUTE: photo taken by me on The Polar Express in November of 2019, New Hope, PA

3) THEME: Cold

4) DESCRIPTION: Twinkling lights create a magical world within the train as it trails through a dark, crisp night. Inside, the light clash with each other, lighting the shine of puffer jackets and allowing the cerulean bulbs to overtake the colors like the cold air overtook the heated cabins. A sharp, horizontal glow cuts through the image like the bite of the frost on the windows. Vibrant string lights remind us of the holiday season and the chilling weather that pairs with the warmth of our family and friends.

theme: Romance

When I first saw this photo I just felt soft. The colors are beautiful but, soft and light. The girl’s dress skirt is the darkest color in the photo. The flowers frame around her and the doors are wide open. I can almost feel the spring breeze coming out of the photo. I associate these soft pinks, blues, and whites as very romantic, as well as flowers.

Photo Observation 2

This Photo was taken by me at my cousin’s wedding in 2017.

Theme: Romance

Description: A wedding cake covered in flowers on a table with a white table cloth. The picture has a purity to it, as it shows a symbol of love.

Lighting Observation 2

Date/Time/Location:  Thursday, February 18th / 12:00pm / My House

Objective: Snow falling all around, leaving a fresh layer on the already-snowed ground.

Subjective: The sky tells the earth to rest for a moment as it tucks the earth into bed.

3) THEME: Cold

4) DESCRIPTION: The air around you is so heavy that everything gets caught within it, you can feel the energy vibrating. The snow helps brighten the world outside beyond the broken window. A shining light beckons you, those stairs lead somewhere, but where? The light is too bright to tell from your stance. Inside is dingy and desolate. Only natural light is there to illuminate what was left behind to rot. The sunlight coming through the window gets darkened by the decay it touches. Yellows and greens mingle against the walls and seep into the heavy air. Everything feels empty, even you. The more you stand and stare everything gets darker in this place that was lost in time. Your fingertips are turning red, your breath hangs the air, but you are still drawn to that brightness you see. You want to step into the light in the center of the room and get closer to that beacon but your limbs won’t move. The space is too empty you feel like an intruder. It feels as if the ghosts of what once was have their eyes on you. A shiver runs up your body as if someone was just breathing down your neck. Is it really just the snow bringing that chill to your body still? Time has stopped here but the light shines on.
