Lighting Observation #7

Location: LIRR Jamaica Stop at 1:00am

Observation: The tracks weren’t lit because it was so early in the morning so the only light we had was from the platforms we were standing. The were regular light bulbs which illuminated so everything had a slight white light to it. The best part was after a long day youre looking forward to see the train pull in. You look down the track and the first thing that you see is the lights from the train coming at you from afar. It always has a slight yellow to them which makes it easier to see in the dark.

Subjective: The day was very long so seeing this light at the end of the tunnel meant that I was going to reach my destination. It meant an end to my long day. In a way, when I think of train lights I think of a new beginning and a new form of life. It’s pulling in to take you to a place that you’re familiar with or to the unknown. It also what people say ” the light at the end of a tunnel” which means that although their darkness for a moment theirs always a brighter side at the other end. That what I feel when I see a train pull in with its tinted yellow lights that its taking you to the brighter side of life.
