2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: While watching “The Death of a Salesman” at the Winter Garden Theater last night the lighting struck me as a major component of the storytelling. The cool, grey lights were used to show the current time while the warm/golden light was used to represent hope, memories, and happiness of the Loman family.
3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The light conveys the memories and dreams of Willy Loman. It is his hope for his sons and his memories of when he was fulfilled by what he does. The warm, golden lights shining on the car to make it seem freshly painted and cleaned, creating a stunning red. While in the cool, grey lights it seems old and weathered, as if it too is tired.
