Lighting Observation

  1. Thursday, January 30th, 2020. 7:00 AM. Bedroom.
  2. White morning light shining through a gap in my curtains, throwing two identical rectangles onto the wall above my desk. Though only a crack, it fills the room with a soft illumination that wakes me from my slumber.
  3. I always prefer the window to the alarm clock. It wakes me with all the subtlety and tenderness that an alarm lacks. Born of the horizon, it explores its adolescent hours in the walls and windows of my room. It’s new life wakes me (albeit slowly), encouraging me to begin my day.
