– When I think of sunsets, my mind immediately goes to a burnt orange color. at this moment, I tried to used that color but also cast a shadow on one side to signify that the sun was going down from stage left.
2) Spring Sunrise in a Gothic Cathedral
– For this one, I was thinking about the big stain glass windows that are in old cathedrals. On top of that, I wanted to use bright colors that represented not only those cathedrals but also colors that, in my opinion, represent spring. I thought that the lights on the side of the stage cast across the figure and brought out the ideas that I wanted. On top of that, I think it also left a great print on the character as well.
3) Noon on a hot Summer day in Hawaii
– When thinking of a summer day, my mind goes straight to the colors yellow and blue. I live near the ocean, so about Hawaii, I was feeling a lot of the beach. In the middle of the day, the sun is at its brightest, and I tried to show that though the backdrop. To represent the ocean, I used the overhang lights to reveal more in-depth and lighter tones of blue.
4) Winter afternoon in North Dakota
– This was the one model that I chose to use the Gobos. I thought that using these white patterns on top of the different shades of blue showed ice like feel. I wanted to try and make the audience feel cold even though it might not be accurate. I also think that matching the background with the lights against the model would also give that feeling.
