- LOCATION: Color Room at the Museum of Illusions, Manhattan, NY
- OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: This time I picked an inside location because I wanted to see how light is different from the inside than from an outside place and natural light if that makes sense. I went to the Museum of Illusions this past weekend and entered the color room. There were different types of light with different colors. As a dancer, it made me realize which colors look good on people and even myself and which do not since color and light reflects differently on the skin. Therefore, I really liked the experience because it was so much more different that having something natural.
- SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: I had set a goal for myself as soon as I saw the color room that was to look how different colors reflect in a different way on different types of skin. My boyfriend has really light skin and there was one point where the color of the light was yellow and it looked terrible. His skin look even lighter and the eyes and features of the face could barely be seen. On the other hand, in my case because I am a little darker blue for some reason did not work too well and green did not look good on either of us. One combination of color I really liked that they had was blue, purple, and pink because I was still able to see the face, hair, and other important features. Overall, it was a very nice experience and gave me other ideas and ways to use light on stage when making another piece in the future.
