Photo Observation #11

  1. Summer
  2. This photo is of the festival by Hofstra that happened last summer over the Fourth of July. To me, its bright lights juxtaposed on a dark sky perfectly encapsulates a summer night. I love that you can almost hear the sounds of a carnival through the photo. I took this from a hill a bit away from the carnival at night, so the only light in the photo is from the carnival. I like how intense the light is, almost making the colors white light in the photo because they as so bright in real life. I also felt the juxtaposition, specifically of the ferris wheel in comparison to the darkness of the trees and night sky is really intriguing and emphasizes that freeness and joy associated with summer.
