2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: Next to my bed, mounted on the wall is a sign from Guys & Dolls with fairy lights attached to the back of it. It is the only light source in the room, other than the small amount of twilight outside the two windows. The sign has amber gels lining the front of it in the cut-out words “Howard’s Fine Furniture” that the fairy lights shine through. The light bleeds out of the sides of the sign too, because it has no side masking. There is light cast all around the sign by it and some coming through the gels at the front, dimly lighting the room with an amber shade.
3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: This lighting is warm and dull. It feels like driving past a diner sign late at night. It is fun and positive because it is an impractical light to work with, functioning more like a nightlight for getting into bed.
