Light Observation #3

1)  12/28/25 – Seattle Art Museum

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: Sunlight pours through two frosted and patterned windows onto the wood flooring of an all wood room. The pattern on the window is consistent circles. As the light travels through the window and onto the floor it creates a unique, repeating, pattern on the floor. The only other light in the room is from the display case of plates and other decorated tableware.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The stretched circles created on the floor by the window caught my eye as it reminds me of the light created by stained glass windows, minus the color. It also reminds me of light as it passes through trees. The lighting is soft and diffused, the circles are stretched due to where the sun is shining into the room. It feels warm and homey, and also somewhat lonely.
