Lighting Observation #10

1)3/29/26 – Shapiro hall

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: red light spills under and through the cyc coating the wires and black drape in red. The red is the only light seen. Straight through the cyc the light looks pink but when it lands on the floor and curtain it is clear the light is red.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The red light is warm but scary. It feels like a warning telling the observer not to cross into this red, dimly lit cut-through. With how dim it is you can barely see the various wires along the floor, each barely distinguishable from the other. It feels like those scenes in horror movies where the protagonist stares down the long creepily lit hall they will absolutely need to run through later that will lead to a major plot element. The way the red light reflects off the black curtains makes the curtains themselves look red, as if for this moment they were doused in red dye for the fun of it.
