Catch their eyes with bold blacks. The shadow surrounds her face as her piercing blue eyes peer out. Drawn to meet her eyes, one notices the thick eyelashes that dramatize the face. White light on smooth skin, such vibrant colors and subdued tones. An air of mystery, white light versus black light battling for the spotlight.

4) DESCRIPTION: The shadows of Natalie Portman’s face entice the audience, exaggerating the darkness of her lashes on the right side of her face in an attempt to embellish the mascara brand. The light draws attention to her eyes and the lighting of the backdrop illuminates and outlines her body, creating a heavenly, angelic effect. The beauty highlighted by the lighting makes the audience want to look like her, buy the product, and hope to feel like her.

3. DESCRIPTION: The lights come on and every feature of her face is flawless. There is no need for highlight, as she is already glowing in all the right places. The darkness of her eyes and the contour on her cheeks draw you in, longing to be her. The shadows also remind you that she is still human even though she looks like an angel.

Georgio Armani Perfume Ad

DESCRIPTION: Cool water rushes behind, white light illuminates a beautiful woman and a bottle of perfume. Everything is cool and blue, bright yet dark. A mysterious image that draws in the viewer, filling them with intrigue and desire.

4) DESCRIPTION: The photo showcases a beautiful woman highlighted by a strong red light. Red light is often associated with feelings of love, lust and desire. The contrasting blue light makes her skin and the background appear green, a color associated with feelings of greed and envy. The red and blue lights highlight the woman’s outfits and accessories, attracting the eyes of the viewer to those areas. The lighting encourages the viewer to look at the clothing and in turn look into the brand.

description : when i think of desire on an advertisement, I immediately think of cologne and men’s products because women are always at the center to make the men seem more desireable.

3) THEME: Spring 

4) DESCRIPTION: The sun shone down on the walking path blinding those passing by on their way. The weather was still cool but the bright sun was a beacon of hope for the weather to come.

1) DATE-TIME-LOCATION: March 19th 2021, 8:55PM, Constitution Hall booth, on facetime with my best friend.

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The light coming from my best friends phone and shining on his face.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The bright artificial light shines on my best friends cheeks, nose and forehead, casting the rest of his face in shadow. The artificial light continues to change hue, from red to blue to white. Each color creates different highlights and shadows on his face. The contrasting colors represent the alternating society in which we live in, constantly dictated by the everchanging nature of social media and technology.

1) DATE-TIME-LOCATION: 3/17/21- 3:00 pm- Shapiro Family Hall- Blackbox

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: When my friend and I walked into the black box because he had forgotten something there, it was completely dark and we needed our flash lights.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: Stepping into a blackness that completely envelopes you. You cannot see your own limbs and who knows where the edge of the floor comes to an abrupt halt. A few lights pulled out to fight the darkness and the white light bounces all around the room and off objects. It feels like a dangerous quest, for something as small as a laptop charger.

Theme: Spring

Description: A random sculpture already has its essence of spring. The colors, the aesthetic, the little things that resemble spring. But the indirect light from the shading of the whole building gives the sculpture a nice light warm glow. The light is toned from the yellow but gives a light breezy glow to illuminate the colors.
