Photo Observation #2

  1. I took this photo at the Brooklyn Museum in 2016.
  2. Theme: Shadow
  3. Description: This installation artwork is called The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago. The triangular table is lit up by a triangular composition of lights above it, and the middle area confined within the three sides of the table is left in a shadow. The giant shadow has many shades towards the center of the triangle, and those names in the darkest part of the shadow on the floor become invisible as if they are absorbed by a huge black empty hole. Although they can’t be seen, we can still imagine how many of them are there in the darkness. As if those brave women who sacrificed their lives to the feminist movement are protected by the brightness around the table which stands for those visible victories in the history of feminism.
