When I picture a sunset in Vermont in the fall I imagine people standing near a lake on the edge of the forest. The sky is a mix of pinks, blues, and purples, with a heavy accent of oranges. I wanted to try to keep all of those colors in the design but have them mix coherently.

Easter Sunrise in a Gothic Cathedral

FOH: 26° Source Four/ETC 426 – R2460 – Forgot this colors name – 10% Intensity

I have never attended a church service during Easter but when I hear Gothic Cathedral I immediately picture the Hunchback of Notre Dame.  I wanted to depict someone standing by the window looking out as they bask in the rising sun before the church fills with worshippers.

Noon on a hot summer day in the Caribbean

LIGHTS USED:

3rd Pipe: Cyc #3 – R313 – Light Relief Yellow – 70% Intensity

FOH: 26° Source Four/ETC 426 – R05 – Rose Tint – 20% Intensity

I wanted this image to be someone swimming in the ocean under the intense sun. Noon is when the sun is at its highest point so it would be extremely bright. I wanted to incorporate that bright yellow and then give ocean vibes on the stage floor.

Winter Afternoon just before snow

LIGHTS USED:

3rd Pipe: Cyc #2 – R53 – Pale Lavender – 20% Intensity

2nd Pipe: Par 64mfl/GE FFR – R94 – Kelly Green – 100% Intensity, Par 64mfl/GE FFR – R77 – Green Blue  – 100% Intensity

1st Pipe: 6” Fres/Altman – R95 – Medium Blue Green – 100% Intensity

SR Boom: 36° Source Four/ETC 436 – R07 – Pale Yellow – 20% Intensity

FOH: 26° Source Four/ETC 426 – R362 – Tipton Blue – 40% Intensity

I wanted to capture the green grass that is usually still seen but covered in a blue frost. When I picture that it is about to snow the sky is usually a light grey with a hint of lavender, I wanted my model to be standing underneath the pale setting sun and everything seemingly quiet.
