Four Seasons Light Lab

Gothic Cathedral Sunrise

I think I used six lights to create this. I wanted to add a gobo, but I forgot how to add them. I added the pink and lavender lights so that it looked like the sunlight was coming through colored stained glass. I really wanted to play into the stained glass look, so instead of using a more sunlight-esque gel, I believe I used something close to R15 Deep Straw. I put all lights on the right, since the sun rises in the East.

Hot Summer Noon, Caribbean

I used all 10 lights here, although they are not all visible. I used a bunch of different shades of yellow for this, to recreate the look of the sun bouncing off of the sand at the beach. I put the brightest of the lights overhead. since the sun is at it’s highest at noon.

Fall Sunset, New England

I used all 10 lights for this. I used a few pictures I found on google as reference. There were a lot of oranges, pinks and purplish blues, so I used pink, a mix of blue and purple lights, and orange lights. I found all of the colors using the color wheel thing, so I do not have specific gel colors. Again i put all lights on the left side, since the sun sets in the west, except for the one that I placed overhead so that the person could be lit properly.

Winter Afternoon, Canada

I used all 10 lights for this. I wanted it look like it was snowy and cold, since it is winter and in Canada, so it is most definitely snowy. 4 lights are colored with R361, another 4 are R365, and the other 2 are R310. I put the lights with the R310 gels to the right of the person so it looks like it is afternoon, since the sun sets in the West.
