- I took this photo while on my way to the airport to spend a few days in LA with my brother. I have many beautiful sunset photos I could have chosen but I love this photo for many reasons as it feels symbolic in different ways. It was the first (and only) sunrise I have seen of 2026, so it felt like a new beginning. But in this photo, the sun is more in the background and it almost looks like the sky is on fire more than anything which feels symbolic to the state of the world, the state of my mind at the time, and I remember driving towards it and staring off into space, wondering what it meant for where I was going. It is chaotic and beautiful and calm all at the same time which I feel perfect for the beginning of a day that could go any which way.
