Light Observation #4

  1. 2/28/2026 approximately 10 pm Henrietta Hudson in Greenwich Villiage
  2. It’s my 21st birthday and the room is dimly lit, the brightest lights being over by the bar while the rest of the location is lit by neon lights and a disco ball. Occasionally a camera flash goes off and briefly illuminates the room. When this flash happens, it reflects off of the disco ball and makes the colors of the walls and people visible
  3. This is the second gay bar i’ve ever been at in my life, the first being stonewall about an hour prior, so i’m rather unfamiliar with the space. The ambient light once i’d moved away from the bar was mostly red with small glimmers from the disco ball so it’s hard to tell what color anything is in the room. When the camera flashes, the world lights up for a moment, illuminating the walls to reveal that they are in fact multicolor and mostly red brick. The flash is kind of a shock to my already confused system but adds to the wild vibes of the club. Impaired judgement aside, the chaos of colors and flashing lights made for an exciting vibe that made me want to stay all night
