- This photo encapsulates everything summer represents to me. The obvious lighting points of this that represent the beautiful season are of course centered around the beautiful sunset over the bay in Ocean City, Maryland. The sharp orange light radiating hues of red, yellow, and orange onto the sky around it is gorgeous. These bold colors bleed onto grayish blue setting sky as it darkens to night. However, to me the most poignant and summery part of this picture is the general ambient light as my friend and I bike along the waterfront. The way the sunset captures the moment is gorgeous, but the way it creates a gentle dim sense in the air as the day closes is even more stunning. It feels comforting and calm, both the most primary feelings of summer to me as a college student. This picture is from last summer, my last summer as a student, which makes me sad. But thankfully I know I will get to bring these beautiful colors with me into every summer for the rest of my life and the beauty of my favorite season lives no matter where my life takes me.
