August 9, 2025; Ferry from Vashon to West Seattle
I took this photo in august of last year. My friends and I were taking a ferry home from Vashon at 5:30 in the morning because we spent the whole night up in Vashon just wandering around and walking on the beach. This photo represents summer to me because summer is all about making memories and being free from the things that would normally keep you busy (school, work, etc.) Summer is where you get to travel and see things you normally miss. I’ve seen a lot of sunrises being in Seattle during the winter but this was one of the few summer sunrises I have ever seen and it holds a special place in my heart. I love the way the sky is a gradient of red to purple as the sun is slowly rising over the water.
