Light Observation

Queens road: 8:31, 3-15-11

2)The street light peering over one individual look sad

3)The peson was in half light and they were stand barely under the light of the street lamp, giving them a sad tone. They had their head down which enchance the dreary sad tone they tried to effortlessly to create. It was then I imagined that they had the worst life, and was just tired. Tired of all the crap they take at work and then go home to their house alone, unimpeded by any friends, which they don’t have.

3) Theme: Sad

4) This photo has a dark an ominous feel.I love the way the moon cast a shadow on the tree and makes a mist over the background. This photo is very creepy and sad because it makes me feel alone. The main focus of the photo is the tree which is standing by itself and has no leaves and no beauty.

Light Observation 1-Week 7

1) 3/17/11, 5:37pm, Mchebes

2)Objective: The sunlight was shining and reflecting off of a glass mug filled with green beer. Which then was reflecting a green light onto the tables.

3)Subjective: The green reflection gave me a happy feeling. Being that it was St.Patrick’s Day, it shined like it was the end of the rainbow leading to a pot of gold. Also it was just great to see the green reflection coming from different peoples mugs. It was like I was surrounded by a green light of people’s envy towards me! It was kind of cool!

“Sad” Photo Observation

1)

2) Google

3) THEME: Sad

4) DESCRIPTION: This photo fells very depressing to me. Not only are the colors very subdued, but the lights streaming through the blinds appear to be coming from a car driving past on a very dark day. It is a small glimpse into this girls dark and dreary world.

2) http://silverreflection.tripod.com/speakoutagainstverbalabusecopy/ , a verbal abuse website.

3) Sad

4) DESCRIPTION: The colors are very desaturated, but still contrast sharply. More than the positive space, I feel that the negative space portrays sadness, because it is so immense that it is pushing in on the subject.

Lighting observation #2, whatever week this is.

Location: My dorm room, 12:33am, 18th of March.

Objective Description: A single florescent fixture illuminates the entire room totally.

Subjective Description: I’m reminded of an earlier post of mine, wherein I recognized a similar effect in the drama lounge. It prompts two predominant thoughts.

1) “Oh, real original.”

2) “These florescent lights are everywhere – and they suck.”
