Photo Observation #10

Theme: Four Seasons

Lighting Key ^^

1) A Fall sunset in Vermont: I found a beautiful picture of a boat on the ocean as the sun was rising (man = boat). I used the blue lights on the ground to show the water, the yellow lights represent the sun coming over the surface of the water, barely lighting the boat up. I used the cyc to emulate the sky as it brightened. No gobos were used.

2) Spring sunrise in a Gothic Cathedral: three of the four lights focused on the man use the window gobo to replicate the morning sun pouring through a church window, while the fourth was used to add more light to the space. The blue and pale red on the cyc are showing the stained glass effect.

3) Noon on a hot Summer day in Hawaii: there is a moment at which the light is directly overhead and there is little to no shadows cast, except for straight down. I ended up having to use multiple lights to try and cancel out the shadows cast by the others. No gobos were used, the color used was L201 which provided the light with enough warmth that the sun does on pavement.

4) Winter afternoon in Chicago: I used the cyc lights to represent the light from the sun on a cityscape and sky. The orange lights coming from the side represents the warm light from the sun shining as it begins to set. The blues on the ground are meant to show the reflection of the light off the ice and snow on Lake Michigan.
