Subjective Description: Rays of sunlight glisten across a pool of blue water. Ripples run through the serene edge with reflections waverting…colonies of coins and wishes lost. Artifacts of an ancient Egyptian life, living once more. The radiating heat from the sun’s convection beats against the yellow-colored bricks beckoning an ancient burial tomb. A real-life recreation of what it may have looked like in its prime place of origin. The room felt warm just by looking at it. History is alive.

Description: The light in this photo is coming directly from the back through the door that the model is standing in front of. This causes her to look as if she is glowing when combined with the yellow/gold/amber tones that are coming from the other lights or being reflected off of the many jewels and chandeliers in the room. It really is the main light in the back that gives the photo it’s essence. Without it the whole photo would seem dull.

Objective: Light blue evening sky that appears even paler due to the clouds covering the majority of it.
Subjective: I was sitting on the 7th floor of the library doing work and from my seat I had a perfect view out of the window. From the window I could see the light blue evening sky covered in clouds waiting for sunset to occur. The clouds absorbed the color of the sky appearing as if they were one. The pale airy blue colored sky made the whole scene seem cool and crisp with evening air.

The lighting is mysterious and makes the picture interesting . The figure is lit to emphasis her fabulous arched back position that is elegant like a bird. The light encourages the viewer to appreciate the dancer’s form with its bright and intense limited use of light. The light calls attention to this dancer like they are the star in the night sky. The lighting only shows certain body parts of the dancer; it is selective in its focus. This select focus makes the star image even greater. “Don’t you want to be a star” the lighting and photo call out to the spectator. Thus, the desire in this advertisement is establish through its lighting of a model.

The light shines from behind one of the mounted seagulls near the ceiling of the one dinosaur room. The light catches the feathers on the edge of the right wing.
The lighting backlit the right wing like a glow from the heavens. It made the wing seem slightly transparent as the light seeped through certain spots of the feathers. The light despite its size emitted an intense light that highlighted the wing brilliantly. It is a bright light emphasizing the might of this seagulls wing. It is empowering light that has a feeling of bravery and nobility to it. It comes from the sky, it shows off this seagull’s wing, and it is golden-ish white. emboldening, brave, mighty, empowering, the light just seemed to sing heartily that this wing is powerful. It is the light of the heavens, of the brave, and of the celestial. The backlighting quality of this light really sells it home that it is a heavenly. The like of which might be found in paintings and other artwork throughout time to indicate holiness and sacredness. The lighting felt like it was empowering and giving strength even if this strength came only in the form of attention.

This photo works for the theme of advertisement model/desire because the woman in the photo is “modeling a foundation” showing potential customers that if they buy this foundation they have the possibility to look like her. The lighting in this advertisement evokes the feeling of desire because the woman’s skin is bright and glowing, which is something most people want to achieve. There are no harsh shadows or anything weird only perfect glowing skin.

Desciption: A shadow cast upon a perfectly painted face. Blurred bulbs of cool illimuntation further define the silhouette cast up one the model and her delicate pose. Angled lights contribute to the asymmetry of a circular orbit, casting darkness upon angles of white light. A contrast of light and dark with one centered origin of color: red. Illuminating the brightly-accentuated lips against the pale snowy skin tone and cool blue background. The versatility of such a color could further enhance the beauty of the pale and purified light and goodness. But it could also contribute to the sultry mystique of the darkened shadows. the crux of two worlds.
