Spring

Attributes: Found on google

Theme: Spring

Description: I chose this picture because I really like the white lighting. Spring has never really felt like a particularly warm season, so I like that it’s not much of a warm light. It’s always felt like the cool, blue tones of winter fading into the warmer, more yellowish tones of summer, so this light is the happy medium. The white light combined with the pink of the trees looks like new beginnings and fresh starts. I also like the way that the trees close to the camera don’t look like they’ve got all their blossoms yet, so it’s really clear that it’s the season of growth

Lighting Observation #8

Date/Time/Location: Wednesday, April 6 at 7:40 in Bits and Bytes

Objective Description: The ceilings lights shining on the tables

Subjective Description: The lights in Bits are directly above the tables, and in this case, right above me. They shine down and make each of the faces around the table kinda strangely shadowed, especially in pictures. When someone looks up at you, their face is really bright, but when you look at them across the table, it looks pretty normal. Despite the bright lighting when you look up, the room itself seems a little dark. It’s not because of a lack of light, it’s just because the paint on the walls is a deep green that takes the light and makes it feel a little darker

Lighting Observation #8

DATE – TIME – LOCATION : April 4, 2022 at 5:57, Dance Studio in Communication Building

OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION : The lights are all off in the studio, but sunshine floods in through the windows. The sun is still far from setting, but there is a clear beam coming in from one of the windows.

SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION :  The bright sky fills the dark room and reflects off of the wall of mirrors, making the room shine brightly. The almost blinding beam of light is focused in the corner of the room, creating an almost spotlight like effect. One can not help but feel energized by the amount of light in the room. It wakes up the senses and fills you with the motivation to get through class.

Spring

ATTRIBUTES : This photo was taken by Rose Andrews to be a stock photo.

THEME : Spring

DESCRIPTION : I chose this photo because of the different angles of light on the tree. The shadows on the branches overlap with one another suggesting multiple  angles of light. I enjoy how even with this all encompassing light source that is the sun, there is a sense of delicacy. The shadows aren’t too sharp and crisp. I also enjoy how the white flowers seem fragile against the pale blue sky. Even though there is a vibrancy in the color, there is nothing harsh about the environment. I also like to think of how the intertwining branches would be creating their own unique shadow on the ground which would give an interesting perspective to the photographer that we wouldn’t be able to see unless we saw it in person.

Lighting Observation

  1. Hofstra University (Oak St) Friday, April 1 6:59pm
  2. Objective Description: The traffic light is red. There is a row of white-yellow headlights facing me. The sky is covered by clouds that are grey, white, and light purple. The sun is behind me, setting. The trees lining the street are being lit from the side as the sun bounces off the dorm windows.
  3. Subjective Description: The overall image was somewhat compelling because the sky was objectively gloomy but as the tree leaves rustle in the low sunlight and the deep green and orange meld together next to an old brick building which almost looks golden with the late afternoon sun, the day itself seems to assume a warm summer evening even though we know that not to be true.

Photo Observation

  1. ATTRIBUTES: 1:42 pm Friday, April 1
  2. THEME: Spring
  3. DESCRIPTION: I thought this photo was a good representation of Spring lighting because it captures the transition from cold and gloomy to sunny and warm in the same moment in the sky. The sun is still a little lower because it’s not quite summer. The clouds are still thick and low, masking some of the light that otherwise could be seen. The parts of the sky that are visible are a deep and bright blue near where the sun pierces the thinner clouds above. I think it’s unlikely this type of lighting could be recreated in a different season.

Spring

From Google Photos

When I think of spring lighting I think of the sun displaying white crisp light. not orange like summer and not harsh like winter, it’s the perfect mix of the two seasons just like spring. Whenever I see spring approaching I get excited about cherry blossoms, they only bloom in spring and have such radiance. In this photo, the pink of the cherry blossoms is thrown onto the river by the sunlight and makes the river look pink. It adds warmth and calmness to the once harsh blue river. The juxtaposition of the blue boats to the pink river displays the switch from winter to spring and shows just how lively spring makes the world look.

Lighting Observation #7

4/1/2022 – 5:51pm – Seasons 52@ Roosevelt field mall

Objective: The sources of light on the dinner table were a small lamp closest to the wall and a tiny candle in the middle of the table. Both are warm-toned lights and provide just barely enough light to see everything surrounding.

Subjective: The dinner table is nicely set at the restaurant yet it is almost too dark to see what is going on. The small, dull orange lights are the only thing guiding the eyes staring into the menus. i watch as the tiny flame shines as brightly and boldly as it can, and if it did any less it would cease to be useful. The one lamp using its shade to extend its light is barely making to the end of the table to light end, the candle is picking up its slack but only ever so slightly.

Photo Observation – Spring

  1. ATTRIBUTES: Shannon Torres
  2. THEME: Spring
  3. DESCRIPTION: I like the hazy effect that the sun shining through the clouds and the fog make. It makes me feel the cool morning air of spring, with the promise of a warmer sun in a few hours. I like the placement of the bright sun sitting on the far left side of the skyline and the pop of pink in the clouds on the right side. The angle of the photo makes the field of flowers seem endless, and the white flowers pop against the green field. I also like the pop of bright pink in the bottom right side of the flowers.

Spring

Spring Sunshine - Flowers & Nature Background Wallpapers on Desktop Nexus (Image 2384903)

2) Nature Wallpapers

3) THEME: Spring

4) DESCRIPTION: The sunshine peaks through the leaves that just returned and bounces off of the freshly bloomed white flowers. Even though the tree casts a large shadow, people can start to see a glimmer of light as the weather warms up and summer approaches.
