Theme: Summer
For me this is summer in a nutshell. Being at home, wandering around Philly, navigating through all the crowds of tourists….Peak summer. There’s never any shade in the city around lunch time. the sun just beats down on your head, and makes it feel like it’s 200 degrees out. The sun reflecting off of the buildings’ windows around this time in the summer is so blinding, but it adds to the experience.

Theme: Summer
Ever summer my best friend and his family go on vacation to Maine for a week, and I have become their de facto cat sitter. This is Ralph, he’s four years old, very sweet, and very food motivated, he likes me because I feed him. While most of this picture is in a shadow, the lighting on Ralph felt very warm, helped by the fact that his orange fur contributes to the warmness of the picture. Any cat in a sunbeam makes the lighting feel comfortable and warm as well, which is what summer is to me

Theme: Summer
I took this photo about four years ago when we were on a cruise. The image is very yellow being below the lifeboat and the stain on the deck really help to emphasize the warmth of the day. The light is coming from the sun off the deck. The sun casts a shadow of the deck chair and railings. Though bright this image feels very calm and relaxing in its simplicity.

3)When I think of summer the first thing that comes to mind is sunsets. The days are finally longer, and the sun doesn’t set at 5pm anymore. One of my favorite things is getting to watch the sunset after a day sitting poolside. I’m not one that enjoys the beach so I typically don’t enjoy going, however I will go to watch the sunset because I think that is where you get the best view, and the way the different colors light up the sky as the sun sets. As much as I don’t like the beach, when I think of summer I also think of the ocean, the waves, the sound of them crashing against the shore. Seashells found in the water as the waves pull back, quickly trying to see what you can find.

Theme: Summer
During the summers, we are usually always out at the country house that we own in Sweden. My birthday is in the summer, and as a child, we used to go sailing in Italy for my birthday. However, after an inchident, we stopped going every year, so ever since then, we’ve gone out to our country house in Sweden

3.) The photo is overall pretty brightly lit. It feels light and quite vibrant, which are words that also come to mind when describing summer. The light from the bright blue sky also reflects off of the water, making the photo feel even lighter. The light shining on my hair and shoulders is also very, very warm, giving the image that sunset golden hour feel which is unique to summer. This vibrant warmth in the forefront of the photo, mixed with the bright and clear, light blue sky and water in the background gives this photo a very specific summer vibe.
