Romance Picture

  1. I found this picture on a website by photographer, David Peterson. I was unable to find if he was the person who took it.
  2. Theme: Romance
  3. Although the wine and candles imply a romantic date, those items are not what make this picture exude romance. The dark and minimally lit (through blurred and dimmed lights) background give off a close and intimate setting. The sparkles of the wine glass also remind me of the way two people look at each other with stars in their eyes when they’re in love, which implies romance.

Lighting Observation #2

1) DATE-TIME-LOCATION: 2/15/22 10:00:04 PM

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: At a concert, strobe lights quickly flashed, forming parallel lines around the keyboard player.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: While the other spotlights and phone flashlights were competing for attention, four strobe lights struck the red washed stage like lightning, forming two sets of parallel lines that crossed each other. The keyboard player was trapped inside the lower set for a moment, but the lightning quickly disappeared soon after and he was freed.

Romance

Source: Stock photo from Getty Images

Theme: Romance

Description: I chose this photo because there is only one small dim light illuminating the entire room. The darkness represents the fact that romance and love is not exclusive to anyone. The women in the picture don’t need to be able see each other to feel love. The way the whole room is pictured but the small light draws our eyes is symbolic of how romantic people are distracted from the rest of the world by one light.

Photo Observation

  1. ATTRIBUTES: This photo was taken in my window on Feb 15th at 5:06pm
  2. THEME: Romance
  3. DESCRIPTION: I chose this photo because I love the soft glow coming through the blinds, brightening the walls and the copper ring around the mirror, illuminating the leaves, displaying the range of colors on the branches. The pots are warm and earthy as the sun lights them from behind the camera. The lighting in this setting is inviting and idyllic.

Lighting Moment 2

  1. DATE-TIME-LOCATION: 2/16/22 – Bedroom, fairy lights
  2. OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: In my bedroom there is a long string of fairy lights that run along my ceiling. They are just high enough so that when you walk they hang above your head. Each light is small enough so that the string runs in one smooth line, rather than a bulky string of Christmas lights.
  3. SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: My favorite time to light them is at night right before bed. The lights have a soft warm glow that help to ease the stress from a long day. They aren’t bright like the harsher overhead light in my bedroom. They are quite dim but provide enough brightness to see the outline of the shapes in the room. They make me feel calm and are nice to fall asleep to.

Photo Observation 2

Attribute: Michigan Bulb

Theme: Romance

Description: I chose this photo because the blooming flowers are a bright and vibrant pink against the dark green background. I appreciate this warm and cool contrast. The flowers are called bleeding hearts and represent passionate love. I think it’s romantic in the way the “hearts” are dripping from the branches.

Lighting Observation – #2

  1. 2/15 8:15pm
  2. My bedroom, the ceiling light
  3. I desperately need to change the ceiling lightbulb in my bedroom (or I may have an electrical problem, I’m honestly not sure), because recently, the lights own’t turn on when I flick the switch. Instead, they randomly will flicker in and out for about fifteen minutes before coming on. In the pitch black of my room, I had no other lighting on. Having forgot I turned the switch on, I was laying peacefully in my bed when random surges of light began shining in my room and breaking the darkness. The artificial lighting sparking in and out reminded me of a lighting strike i the mild of a bad storm, providing just enough light to quickly see silhouettes of my room’s landscape before once again engulfing them in darkness. This unpredictability provided the room with an incredibly eery feeling. particularly because I was home alone.

Romance

From: Time Square

Theme: Romance

Description: I chose this photo because I remember my friend saying “act like you actually love each other.” This picture is the epitome of my romance. This orangish lighting shining on us brings out the warmness you feel when you are with someone special and the contrasting blue lights in the background show how we stand out and feel closer to each other than anything else.

Photo Observation – Romance

  1. ATTRIBUTES: This photo was taken from Twitter, by user @ArtisticVisuals.
  2. THEME: Romance
  3. DESCRIPTION: I chose this photo because the way the clouds align in the sky, and the sun shines through them makes the appearance of a heart between the trees. I love the way the landscape shapes the heart, with the trees on the side and the darker clouds atop. Additionally, I find this photo romantic because of the coloring of the sky. Heavily pink, with contrasting pops of blue pushing through the clouds, this photo provides a romantic atmosphere. The warm tones streaming through the clouds and trees onto the lot also adds to the romanticism of the photo.

Charlese Martin-Romance Picture Entry

  1. Source: google
  2. THEME: Cherry Blossom Tree
  3. DESCRIPTION: I chose this image because one of my favorite romantic films is “To All the Boys I’ve Loved before.” There is a saturation and color scheme of soft pastels in the movie’s franchise. I associate this color pallete with romance. These cherry blosssoms have a high concentration of pigmented pink and the sky looks very blue in this shot. It reminds me of the scene where the two main characters write up the contract of their new relationship under a cherry blosson tree.
