Photo Observation

Taken by me around 8 pm on September 6th 2020 at the Mahoning Drive-In Theater

3) THEME: My Choice

4) DESCRIPTION: The white screen stood out against the distant sunset. Cars lined up along the grass eager for the movie to be shown. The edges of the trunk of my car made a window of their own to look through into the night.

OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: Cell phone alarm going off in a dark room

Photo Observation

  1. ATTRIBUTION: Photo taken by my friend, August 28th 2016
  2. THEME: Summer
  3. DESCRIPTION: The Sun’s angelic rays shine down from the cloudless sky. They warm my skin and protect me from the icy ocean I’m standing in and the harsh winds. The waves almost look like a staircase up to the sky, with the shimmering waters making it too beautiful not to climb.

Light Observation

1) DATE-TIME-LOCATION: 4/29/2021 – 12:00 pm – Bits n’ Bites

2) OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The light from the ceiling fixtures and from the food display case shines off the fresh, glossy fruits on the counter in Bits n’ Bites.

3) SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: The fresh vegetables and produce sparkle next to the packaged, overeaten meals in the display case. The lighting enables the new addition to the dining area to call my name as I reach for a variety in my constant food habits, ready to make a meal.

Light Observation

  1. WHEN/WHERE: Friday, April 23rd, 2021; Noon; Lowe 106
  2. OBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: It’s bright and sunny outside and the windows are half-open, but all the lights are off.
  3. SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION: There is a sort of peacefulness that comes with the studio being dark. The sunlight shimmering through the windows offers just enough for the room to feel alive but at rest. Work can still be done, but there is no need to stress or panic. All is calm.

Photo Observation

ATTRIBUTES: This photo was taken by my friend Joe and showcases me posing in Pride Park.

THEME: Wild Card (Cartoony)

DESCRIPTION: Although the photo was not enhanced or edited in any way, the lighting makes it seem like I Photocopied myself onto the background. There are almost no harsh shadows in the photo and therefore no harsh lines to separate myself from the background. The bright lighting paired with the basic colors within the photo make it look almost like a cartoon.

Photo Observation 12

These pictures were taken by me in April of 2018

Theme : Wild Card

I chose these pictures because it was the first time I ever played with lights. We had an LED cyc at my high school and one day, we accidentally turned it on with the last traveler closed. The result was the traveler looking how its seen in the photos. After playing around with it, we put a moving rainbow color on it, and that’s how the picture came to be.

Photo Observation

Attribution: This was a photo taken by me this summer when my mom and stepdad “eloped”.

Theme: Wild card – Silhouette

Description- The “golden hour” in the theme of love topped the creation of a memorable evening. The sky is lit with a beautiful pastel yellow tone with a light blue/ grey outline at the top of the sunset. This light created a silhouette to accentuate the setting of the beach with the palm tree and emphasized the love of my parents with their dancing bodies. This photo simply just needed the light background to create a photo of forever serenity and imagery.
